AU Challenge: Riddle/Edward

The first thing Riddle notices when he wakes is that he is not alone. A moment of idle searching with one pale hand encounters fabric, skin... metal.

Edward, then. Riddle wasn't expecting anybody else, but it does take him a few moments to remember that they were up working late the night before, and somehow - for some reason - Edward had been convinced to stay.

Riddle isn't really sure why he does this to himself, but if he stops thinking for a moment and just lets his fingers run slowly through the long blond hair on the pillow next to him, he can almost forget about the mess they're in, and the fact that this boy has fucked his mind over twelve ways from Sunday. When he stops thinking, things can be alright, for a moment.

Why is a good question, aside from obvious masochism of choosing to sleep with someone you're in love with when you can't touch them, Ed really wasn't very good bed company. He tossed and turned, a habit made all the worse by flailing metal limbs, talked in his sleep, and ultimately stole all the blankets.

The last of it explains where Ed is now, buried to his neck in a tangled mound of blankets. The pillow he'd been using the night before had fallen off the bed at some point in his usual restless night.

	Smiling slightly to himself, Riddle leans over Edward, bracing one hand against the bed, stretching his other arm over to pick the pillow up. He can't quite reach, so he shifts again, leaning in a little further. The tips of his long bangs brush Edward's face. (Replies frozen)(Parent)(Thread)

	It would be so easy to kill him, Riddle muses dreamily. But then he'd just come back and kick Riddle in the face. Really, camp ruined everything. Picking the pillow up from the ground, Riddle places it... somewhere close to where it should go, then lightly tugs at the edges, trying to get it back under Edward's head. With a soft, incoherent sigh, Ed finally just barely opens his eyes. It's plainly obvious he isn't actually awake, and chances are if Tom left him alone just now Ed would go back to sleep and never remember waking up.

The hand that had previously brushed at the bangs now grabs the pillow and pins it down, Ed's sleepy features turning vaguely confused, as if he couldn't quite figure out why the pillow was moving to begin with.

Ed's only response is to blink slowly and stare blurily at Tom. He's clearly having one of those mornings where waking up just isn't happening. Chances were it was the result of the exhaustion Ed usually worked himself toward. Whether he was working with Tom or not, Ed still always spent an inordinate amount of time in his own labs on his crystalizing philosopher's stones. The eventual result was tiring slowly out until after a week or so he slept for most of a day.

After several moments of trying to make his brain work and failing miserably, Ed murmurs something about five more minutes and lets his eyelids slide close again.

Lying down again beside Edward, Riddle stifles a yawn of his own, resting his head on the pillow, breathing in the scent of Ed's hair. Knowing full well that he's going to get yelled at for this when Ed wakes up, Riddle slips one arm around the boy, pulling him closer.

Cynical he may be, Riddle reasons to himself, but he knows how to find some sort of advantage in any situation.

Later, yes, later there would be trouble. But for now Ed certainly has no objections. He rolls into Tom's arms with no second thought, either for the warmth or out of a habit developed during the weeks they were dating and sleeping together regularly. Or perhaps just one of his usual turns in sleep that worked out in Tom's favor. Whatever the reason, the result is Ed lying with his forehead resting against Tom's collar bone, breathing softly and evenly.

	Riddle makes a low noise in his throat, closing his own eyes, the fingers of his other hand running slowly through Ed's hair. After a while he begins to drift back to sleep, himself, too warm and comfortable to do anything else. (Replies frozen)(Parent)(Thread)

Warm, half-asleep, and curled up close with the only person he's ever really loved, Riddle can't really blame himself when his hand, gently stroking Ed's hair, starts to move a little bit lower, thumb rubbing along the side of Ed's neck, then down to the edge of his tanktop.

He uses his nails, lightly, then soothes away the light scratches, eyes unfocused and half-open, now. Then he moves in with his mouth.

Nothing stops him, infact, Ed unconsciously assists, rolling his head to the side so that Tom could access his neck with ease. He does register the touch on some level, shown when his left hand touches the back of Tom's neck lightly, then feels it's way through his hand and down over the brow, circling the shell of an ear. All as if Ed was aware of what was happening without actually registering it, and trying vaglue to put together the pieces by way of touch.

	Kissing the curve of Ed's neck softly, Riddle slides both hands easily into Ed's hair. He murmurs something thoughtfully, mouth moving up to catch the lobe of Ed's ear between his teeth lightly. Riddle is also apparently something of a masochist.

Ed response to the touches slowly, movements understandably lethargic as he inches his way to consciousness. He seems to have at least figured out, vaguely, what is happening, if not yet remembered that they had agreed it was a bad idea and shoudln't happen again.

The hand that had been wandering curiously around the back of Tom's head finally makes up it's mind, and gripping the dark strands lightly Ed directs Tom's mouth toward his own.

	And that is something of an understatement. Pressing his mouth to Ed's, Riddle moans softly, fingers curling into Ed's hair. 	No coaxing is really necessary, for as long as Ed is only half aware of what is going on, likely still partly trapped in a dream, he's quite pliable. Lips part with no hesitation as he accepts Tom's tongue into his mouth easily and the fingers twined in the other's hair tighten slightly. (Replies frozen)(Parent)(Thread)

So bad. Shouldn't be doing this. Wait. That would involve having a conscience.

Pressing his weight against Edward, though not fully, Riddle deepens the kiss, mouth moving slowly, almost sluggishly. It's very different from their usual desperation, the fighting and the violently repressed lust.

Brushing his thumbs against Ed's skin softly, Riddle breaks away, pressing his lips against Ed's once, chastely, then leans back into another deep kiss.

	Ed makes a soft, contented sound in the back of his throat and finally opens his eyes again. He's waking, but ever so slowly, and Tom's tongue wasn't exactly helping him toward what could be call coherence. Lips curving into a slight smile, Riddle braces one hand against the bed, the other curving along the side of Ed's face, stroking Ed's lower lip with the pad of his thumb and kissing him once more, deeply, before moving down to press a series of slow kisses down Ed's neck. Settling in at the junction of neck and shoulder, Riddle's tongue moves across the skin before he bites down, then pulls back to kiss the reddened skin.

The bite goes a long way toward snapping Ed out of it. He gasps faintly, an automatic response between his guard being down and waking up already aroused, and then blinks slowly.

Though he doesn't push Tom away, Ed's own movements stop and he looks confused and more than a little lost. Something was off about this situation, but his muddled brain was having trouble placing exactly what it was. Or rather, why was kissing Tom supposed to be a bad thing again?

Sorry, sorry... why was Tom sorry? Ed kisses back with only slight hesitation, while idly mulling over the thought.

Of couse, Ed always had a hard time thinking and kissing at the same time, so it takes quite a while for any real thought process to occure.

Probably, he remembers, Tom was sorry because hadn't they agreed not to do this recently? That was it... on the roof, they'd talked about it. They'd talked and agreed it was a bad idea, and Ed could recall thinking at the time it was unlikely their simple agreement would really end things just like that.

...and between Tom's hands and tongue and the wool in his skull, Ed couldn't for the life of him figure out how any of these thoughts were relevant.

Perhaps, on some level, Riddle knows what's going on in Ed's head. On the other hand, perhaps not.

As it is, he swings one leg over Ed, straddling him, one hand in his hair again, the other wreaking havoc underneath Ed's shirt. He strokes his fingers down to Ed's navel, hand splaying out across his stomach, then working down to rake teasing fingernails across the hem of his boxers.
